Hello and welcome to Berlin!
My name is Michael. In 1980 I moved from Bremen to Berlin and already during my university days, I began leading city tours around West-Berlin.
Since my family was separated by the inner-German border, and we could only occasionally visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins in the East, the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 was a deeply emotional event for me which I celebrated right on the Wall itself.
After the German reunification, I was finally able to guide tours in the eastern part of the city and in Potsdam as well, and I’m still doing it with the same enthusiasm today. Meeting guests from all over the world and sharing my fascination for Berlin is what drives me.
Over the years, I’ve designed numerous tours and run my own agency. Since the Covid lockdown, when guiding was temporarily halted, I’ve also been creating Berlin videos for my YouTube channel, "Berlin erleben - Berlin Videos." If you would like to check it out, the link is: Berlin erleben on YouTube
Berlin is a city like no other, with countless layers of history to explore and captivating stories to tell. It’s a lively, vibrant, and ever-changing metropolis, and that’s what makes it so fascinating. I’m still discovering new things and continually learning more about this incredible city every day.
If you’d like to discover Berlin with a passionate and personal guide who has lived through the city's division and experienced its rapid transformation, feel free to get in touch with me.
Whether you’re interested in one of the tours listed here or prefer a customized experience tailored to your specific interests, I’m happy to guide you on foot, by public transport, by bike, or in a vehicle with a driver.
I look forward to exploring the city with you and sharing my knowledge and love for Berlin along the way!
