One of the main goals of the Bündnis Berliner Stadtführer (BBS) is to help our members continue to learn about Berlin and its surroundings in order to become better guides. While books hold great wisdom, the best way to expand our knowledge is to visit new places and explore them together. To further this goal, the BBS aims to offer one further education opportunity per month. These opportunities include visits and guided tours of intriguing places in and around Berlin, as well as lectures and workshops held by outside experts and current members.
The events are announced directly to our members and participation can be secured by signing up via email. The BBS will try to cover as many of the costs for these events as possible, but some may require an additional fee. For those events in which numbers are limited, participation will be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. If there are spaces left, the BBS will open events to non-members for a nominal fee. All of the details, including date, time, location, description, and possible fee for both members and non-members will be communicated to members directly.
The BBS also encourages members to pass on their own knowledge to other members by offering special interest tours. These tours are organized between the interested member and the BBS Board of Directors.
While we strongly believe that our members are among the best guides in the city, it is always possible for us to learn more. Therefore, the BBS is committed to providing as many opportunities for further education for its members as possible.
